Structure and working principle of high-speed vertical powder mixer
High speed vertical flour mixer is an efficient mixing equipment specially designed for powdery and granular materials (such as flour, starch, Rice noodles, feed premix, food additives, etc.). Its core characteristics are compact vertical structure, fast mixing speed, and high uniformity, which are widely used in food processing, feed production and other industries.
1, Core structure composition
The whole machine adopts a vertical layout, mainly composed of six core parts: frame, mixing tank, mixing system, transmission system, discharge device, and control system. All components in contact with the materials are made of SUS304/316 stainless steel material, which meets food hygiene standards.
rack
Made of welded steel sections, equipped with leveling feet or movable casters (small models) at the bottom to ensure stability during equipment operation. The rack is equipped with internal components such as transmission motors and reducers, and an external access door for easy maintenance.
Mixing bucket (mixing chamber)
Shape: The mainstream design is cylindrical cone or cylindrical flat bottom, with a cone bottom angle of 30 ° -60 °, which facilitates rapid material discharge without residue.
Capacity: 50-200L for small models, 500-5000L for industrial models, customizable.
Sealing: The barrel mouth is equipped with a quick opening sealing cover to prevent dust from flying during high-speed mixing. At the same time, a feeding port, observation port, and dust removal port are reserved, which can be connected to the automatic feeding system.
Mixing system (core components)
This is the key to determining the mixing efficiency, using a multi-layer and multi blade combination design, divided into main mixing blades and auxiliary dispersing blades:
Main mixing blade: installed at the bottom of the mixing shaft, commonly in the form of a spiral blade or a frame blade. When rotating, it carries animal material in a circular upward motion along the barrel wall, forming large-scale convective mixing.
Auxiliary dispersing blade: installed in the upper part of the mixing shaft, using high-speed small blades or toothed dispersing knives, with a speed of 1000-2000r/min, can quickly disperse the material lumps formed during the mixing process, while breaking down the layering phenomenon of the material and improving uniformity.
Mixing shaft: Solid stainless steel shaft is used, connected to the motor through a coupling, and the shaft end is equipped with mechanical seal or packing seal to prevent material from infiltrating the transmission system.
Transmission system
Power source: Variable frequency speed regulating motor, power can be selected according to the model size (1.5-75kW), and the speed can be adjusted within the range of 50-1500r/min.
Deceleration mechanism: By using planetary reducers or cycloidal pinwheel reducers, the high-speed operation of the motor is converted into stable power output of the mixing shaft, while ensuring sufficient torque to handle the mixing of high viscosity materials.
discharge device
Small models: using manual butterfly valves or ball valves for discharge, easy to operate.
Industrial model: equipped with a pneumatic discharge door, linked with the control system to achieve automatic discharge. The discharge port can be connected to a conveyor belt or silo, reducing manual operation.
Anti residue design: The cone bottom seamlessly connects with the discharge port, the inner wall is polished, and the material residue rate is less than 0.5%.
control system
Equipped with PLC and touch screen, it can set parameters such as mixing time, speed, and discharge delay, and supports one click start/stop.
Equipped with overload protection, emergency stop button, shortage alarm and other functions to ensure the safe operation of the equipment; Some models can be connected to the factory MES system to achieve production data traceability.
2, Working principle
The mixing process of the high-speed vertical powder mixer is based on the triple action of "convection mixing+shear mixing+diffusion mixing". Through the high-speed operation of the mixing system, the material is quickly and uniformly mixed. The specific process is as follows:
Feed stage
The materials are manually or automatically fed into the mixing drum through the feeding system, and the sealing cover is closed; Set the stirring speed and time according to the characteristics of the material (medium high speed is usually used for powdered materials, and low-speed start and high-speed mixing mode is used for particle+powder mixing).
mixing phase
The motor drives the stirring shaft to rotate, and the main stirring blade moves the animal material upwards along the barrel wall. After reaching the top, it falls back towards the center, forming a convection motion that circulates up and down, achieving macroscopic uniform distribution of the material.
At the same time, the auxiliary dispersing paddle rotates at a higher speed, generating strong shear and impact forces on the falling materials, dispersing the agglomerated material blocks, and allowing materials of different densities and particle sizes to fully penetrate and permeate under shear action, completing micro diffusion mixing.
During the entire mixing process, the material forms a complex motion state of "vortex+turbulence" inside the barrel, with fast mixing speed. Generally, powdered materials only need 3-8 minutes to achieve uniformity requirements (uniformity coefficient of variation CV ≤ 5%).
Discharge stage
After reaching the set mixing time, the equipment automatically stops, the pneumatic discharge door opens, and the evenly mixed material slides out of the discharge port along the bottom of the cone under the action of gravity; After unloading is completed, the cleaning program can be initiated (such as blowing compressed air into the inner wall) to prepare for the next batch of production.
3, Core advantages
High mixing efficiency: Compared to horizontal mixers, vertical structures have a shorter material movement path and a 30% -50% reduction in mixing time.
Small footprint: Vertical layout saves factory space and is suitable for densely arranged production lines.
Less material residue: cone bottom+polished inner wall design, thorough unloading, reducing material waste and batch cross contamination.
Flexible operation: Variable frequency speed regulation can adapt to the mixing requirements of different materials, with a wide range of applications.
