Classification:

Food puff extruder are divided into Single screw extruder, Twin screw extruder, and Triple screw extruder, all of which can produce food, feed, and some special raw materials.

These three types of puffing extruder are divided into Dry Type Extruder and Wet Type Extruder.

Dry Type Extruder use the friction and shear between the screw and the screw to generate heat, supplemented by the external heat of the heating ring wrapped around the screw to heat and extrude the material. What are the differences and advantages of these three types of food puffing extruder?

 

A single screw extruder is a puffing chamber composed of a single screw. Single screw generally does not have external heating, and only in extremely cold regions or during dry soybean production, external heating is applied to the screw. Therefore, the extrusion and shear heat of a single screw are ensured by the rotational speed, which is generally 480-600 revolutions per minute. Suitable for puffing single grains without spherical shape, for ripening, and at a cheap price.

 

The Twin screw puffing machine consists of two screws in the puffing chamber, which form a set of meshing areas. While the material runs parallel in the puffing chamber, it increases the mixing shear effect, making it more suitable for producing mixed formula feed than a single screw.

Its advantages are:
1. Low speed, usually 200-300 revolutions per minute;
2. The two screws increase mutual shear, resulting in high material homogenization and stable quality;
3. Fully utilize the external heating of the screw barrel and achieve a good degree of maturation;
4. Adopting variable frequency speed regulation, stable and reliable operation;
5. The screw has a self-cleaning function, and there is no need to disassemble the screw barrel for cleaning after shutdown.

 

A Three screw puffing machine is composed of three screws in the puffing chamber, which shear each other, equivalent to three sets of twin screws operating simultaneously in one puffing chamber with three meshing points. Therefore, the cutting efficiency is high, the material is easy to plasticize, and the pressure generated before puffing is greater, resulting in better ripeness and more added nutrients such as protein and fresh meat. Energy consumption is reduced by 30% compared to twin-screw puffing machines with the same output. Becoming a popular source of goods in the market.
